Our shop is located on the historic main High Street of Shaftesbury, Dorset, UK. We are always happy to serve personal callers to our shop as well as our internet clients. The shop has been established since 1967, and the current owner, Mr. Hodson, took over in 1982. He is the longest-serving shopkeeper in Shaftesbury.
Shaftesbury is situated in North Dorset on the boundary with Wiltshire. This Saxon hilltop town is one of the oldest and highest towns in England. It offers breathtaking views from its high vantage point overlooking the Blackmore Vale. The steep cobbles of Gold Hill (also known as Hovis Hill) are probably one of the most famous streets in the country, even though some people mistakenly think it is in Yorkshire. Shaftesbury is steeped in history and tradition. It is traditionally known as “Shaston” and is described in the novels of Thomas Hardy.

Our retail store is situated at the lower end of Shaftesbury High Street. Although our establishment was first established in 1967, it was acquired by the current owner, Steven Hodson, in 1982. Since then, our business has endeavoured to adapt with the changing times. However, much like the town of Shaftesbury itself, we have maintained a traditional old fashioned approach.
In addition to our selection of gifts, including Amelia Art Glass, Reflections by Leonardo, authentic Russian Dolls and aneroid barometers, we offer a diverse collection of clocks from reputable brands such as Seiko, Wm Widdop, Acctim, and more. We offer a good range of watches from Sekonda and Lorus as well as a watch battery fitting service which we carry out on the premises.
